Transfer news and rumors

More news

Hertha continued with excellent performances in the championship, so they reached their fourth away win, when they easily beat Bochum last weekend. On the other hand, Koln impaired their excellent record, thanks to the second successive loss, this time on home ground against league leaders, Hoffenheim.

Three goals in less than 15 minutes

It ’s been a long time since we saw Berlin side so convincing on the pitch, especially when playing away, but this season Hertha finally showed that they can handle the top contenders. Last weekend Hertha started brightly in Bochum, and were three goals up front before the break. The heroes of this triumph were Raffael, Kacar and Cicero who managed to outsmart Bochum keeper three times in 15 minutes.

Coach Favre will be able to count on team's best scorer, Pantelic who entered the pitch in the closing stages of the last game thus celebrating his 100th cap in Bundesliga. Simunic will again be favoured over Von Bergen in defense, having in mind that he has in the last few rounds been an impassable obstacle for the opposing strikers. Gojko Kacar became a favourite of the fans in short time, as in less than a year the Serb fit in great in the new club for which he scored very important goals this season. Favre made an excellent decision when he signed Voronin who immediately adapted to the team, so he and Pantelic form a killer attacking tandem. Fiedler, Lucio, Pistzezck, Hartmann, Traore and Riedel are injured and won’t join the team.

Hoffenheim’s revenge

Last season when these clubs played in Bundesliga 2, Koln beat Hoffenheim twice. This time, league leaders got back at the Billy goats last weekend by winning 3:1. The only goal for Koln was scored by experienced Petit, while aside from plenty of goals we also saw a lot of red and yellow cards.

After an excellent start the Billy goats suffered two straight losses with the exact same result, first in Bremen and than at home. Koln will be without McKenna who booked a red card in the last game, so he will most likely miss the next two games as well. Coach Christoph Daum will again be bale to count on Brecko’s help, so defense will definitely be more stable. As usually Novakovic will be lonely in the attack and he is in great form, having in mind that he scored eight goals so far. Injured Umit Ozat, Parensen, Cullmann and Niedrig won’t be able to help their side.

Betting Verdict

The last time these rivals met in Bundesliga was three seasons ago and it ended in an away win. Hertha are in the excellent run of tree straight wins, while Koln are in a mini-crisis having in mind that they lost the last two games. Judging by the form we think that Berlin side should win this match and become serious title contenders.
