If they win Cesena, Treviso will send Romagnoli to Serie C and gain some hope for staying in the league. By the middle of the week they played the postponed match against Grosseto and they can still avoid even play-out but this will depend on Modena. Anyway, Veneti wish somehow to save their life in the season the fans wish to forget. Treviso were believed capable to reach the midtable without problems and instead of that they fear for their life in Serie B. Cesena are nailed to the bottom and even a win over Avellino last week didn’t help but there is some hope. Romagnoli will host Piacenza in the next round and then travel to Ravenna, the schedule is difficult and we don't see them in this rank next season.
Treviso did better in April
First Veneti fought a point against Brescia and then Pillon succeeded in taking three points in Bari. It was the first away win for Treviso this year. Some malicious people say that the coach had some benefits against his former clubs Ascoli and Bari and if it hadn’t been for these victories Treviso would probably be thinking now about Serie C. This way, they have the chance to survive and the mystery remains how a squad with such good players gives such weak performances. They were better at home than away so it is understandable why they feel optimistic before this duel
The worst visitors in the league
The fact that Cesena took only four points away this season sounds incredible. The numbers are cruel; Cesena lost 15 out of 19 games, scoring only 11 goals. Only their rivals this Saturday are less efficient. Now Cesena must chase victory, even if they take a point and if Avellino or Spezia win at home, they will be lost. There can’t be any more calculations, coach Castori must field an offensive formation and try to win. This will be hard but, having in mind the way Treviso play against weaker sides it won't be impossible. An important fact is that Romagnoli filled Veneti net to the roof in the first part of the season.
Betting Verdict
Odds of 1.75 for Treviso are not worth the risk. We have mentioned many times this season that they are a group of good players that don't have unity on the pitch. Individual quality rarely wins in Serie B so Veneti are not so much of a favourite against the endangered Romagnoli. We will try betting on goals, Cesena rarely manage to shake the opposite net away but this is because of the rigid tactics. Now they will play more open with two forwards so over 2.5 goals is not so unexpected choice as it seems at first. In the last three matches bianconeri have scored a goal which is certainly encouraging before this match.
