It`ll be a tough game at south coast. Fallen Southampton will be host to lately fantastic Sheffield United. The game is of a great importance for both teams and will be highly suspense…
Saints in deep trouble
Southampton played and did well in away game against WBA (1:1), but they`re still far from solving their problems. Saints were put ahead at Hawthorns15 minutes before end and it seemed they were close to gaining all 3 points. However, an equalizer scored with 6 minutes to go, gave WBA a place in the Premier League and new problems for Saints.
After a disastrous spring series, somewhat better shape was not enough to put Saints in a safer position on the board. They are very insecure and inefficient, with a poor goal difference that could work against them if another of many fellow strugglers holds the same amount of points. Experienced defender Chris Lucketti won`t play against his parent club.
Blades still search for late play-off push
Sheffield United won again, quite unexpectedly finding themselves in a situation where they still stand a chance for play-off. Veteran Gary Speed was hero of the game against Bristol City, scoring twice (once from the spot) to bring his team a win (2:1). Blades won deservingly although visitors were put ahead and also were very dangerous in the finish.
United were just 4 points above relegation zone, only 8 weeks ago, so last series of manager Kevin Blackwell`s squad is to prove their quality. They won as much as 8 and drew 1 of last 10 games. Key players at their positions: forward James Beattie, defender Ugo Ehiogu and winger Lee Martin won`t be available for this game.
Betting verdict
This will surely be one of the toughest games. Saints won`t be safe even if they win, but anything other than a win would mean a great trouble and almost certain relegation to League One. Blades` chances for play-off are very slim, but they will also play to win, confident in their good form. It`s only logical that we`ll decide for United, despite home side`s greater need for points. A draw would do nothing for either of teams and Saints don`t seem capable of winning.
