For the third time in one week Liverpool and Arsenal will meet but this time with the biggest stake. Both matches at emirates ended 1:1, and to make things even more interesting, first match this season played at Anfield ended the same. On Tuesday, however, one of them will definitely end the season without the trophy, and the defeated manager will have trouble explaining to the fans why they are looking Manchester United and Chelsea's back year after year.

Benitez is not the coach that can lead Liverpool to the title

If Liverpool wish to finally rejoice their fans with a title in the Premiership, Benitez will have to leave the club. The Spaniard simply is not the coach who considers titles imperative. While Valencia would settle with occasional participation in the Champions League, Liverpool fans are tired of ... Over the last 20 years, Ferguson brought about 20 titles to the Devils and also brought them to a step away from being the English club with most trophies ever.

However Benitez may be incapable of making the team capable of winning in series against weaker rivals, in the Champions League he showed that he is one of the best tacticians in the world. It is very hard to beat Reds in two games which The Special One, Mourinho directly experienced in the last few years. Wenger could easily join him since he obviously haven’t found a way to stop the Reds this season. One thing is sure - Torres and Gerrard will be on the pitch against Arsenal on Thursday as well as 9 other guys that leave their hearts on the grass to stop the Gunners reach a clear chance.

Will Arsenal be left empty-handed this year

Although Arsenal are the side that alongside Manchester United and Barcelona play the most attractive football on the planet, they will probably be left without the trophy once again. It is simply incredible to what extent Arsenal fans are ready to support their coach who made the Gunners a team that each year sells the players that don't want to spend their career in the teams that only dreams of serious trophies. We must admit that Wenger can find the talented players cheap, but he also convinced the fans that it is not a failure if they don't win any trophies.

Until only few weeks ago they were in the race for treble. Since then they have been demolished at Old Trafford, in FA Cup, draw too many games in Premiership that ruled them put of the title race and now they must win at Anfield to move on to the Champions League semifinals. If they yield at Anfield, it will be the third season without trophies for the Gunners, and Wenger will have problems convincing the players that they shouldn’t seek new clubs where they can finally win a trophy or two. Precisely this fact will be a great pressure for Arsenal players that are not in best of forms lately.

Betting Verdict

This match will be difficult to bet on. Anything is possible. Both sides have their advantages and flaws so the question is what will prevail. Arsenal have more quality players and if they give their best they can win. On the other hand it is hard to play your best against Liverpool where 8 players have only one aim - to neutralise the rivals. Liverpool's biggest advantage is Anfield that so far was invincible in the Champions League. Benitez is a more reliable coach than Wenger which can also be crucial. As we see it, Liverpool are the favourites and they could reach semifinals.
