AlbinoLeffe await Lecce
The favourites mostly lived up to the expectations last week. We saw more than three goals in each of the ten matches played while the match in Treviso was stopped with a visitors\' 1:0 lead. Last round didn\'t solve any dilemmas about promotion or relegation and we shouldn\'t expect any decisions before the last round.
A round with no surprises
Perhaps Lecce’s draw with Mantova was a surprise but the visitors that play pressure-free can be very dangerous. Chievo, AlbinoLeffe and Bologna lived up to the expectations and they are continuing their race for the top two places.
At the bottom, Ravenna and Avellino marked precious victories, while Cesena and Spezia were easily defeated. Treviso didn’t finish their game because of an attempt of suicide near the stands. Match was ended with the 1:0 score for the visitor side and it is very important that the match is played as soon as possible so the competition will be regular.
Nothing new happened last week, things mainly stayed the same. Four teams are in the race for Serie A, while four other teams are fighting to survive in the league.
Lecce fighting for second against AlbinoLeffe
Derby match of the round will take place in Bergamo, where home side will get very close to Serie A if they win. A win would rule out the visitors from contention for one of the top two places and Bologna would be the only threat. Chievo and Bologna are up against midtable home sides. First-placed Verona side are playing against Mantova who took a point from Lecce last week, while Bologna have a somewhat easier schedule than Grosseto. Brescia and Pisa are playing in front of their fans but they can start preparing for the play-offs.
Cesena have another chance to preserve their place in the league. They must win the duel against Avellino at any cost. Each other result would get them relegated to the regional league. Ravenna, Spezia and Treviso are playing away where they are quite weak so this will be a great chance for Cesena to get back in the game and rescue their place in Serie B.
Half of the league is safe without chances for any higher place. This means we will see very attractive football with plenty of chances and goals. We will keep you informed with the latest news about Italian second league.
