England - Premier League: Fulham vs BurnleyFulham remained in the top part of the table having picked up one point from Reebok Stadium and they will now try to inflict more misery on Burnley, the side with the worst away record in the Premiership. The Clarets escaped the bottom three as they beat West Ham but Turf Moor is the only places where they are picking up points this term.
Fulham are improving
Fulham have suffered a major dip in form in January and they even lost four successive league games at one stage, but the Cottagers have shown a lot of improvement lately and they are on a road of recovery. Roy Hodgson’s side picked up four points from games against Portsmouth and Bolton, and they are now looking to extend the good run with three points from this match. The hosts are the hot favourites here and seeing that Burnley failed to score in four of the last five games, backing Fulham to win to nil at 2.75 offered by 888sport looks like the right thing to do.
Simon Davies looks set to return to the side after shaking off an ankle injury, while Nicky Shorey will continue to deputize for injured Paul Konchesky. Zoltan Gera is closing in on his return, but Clint Dempsey, Andy Johnson and John Paintsil remain long-term casualties. Even though the Cottagers are expected to have the upper hand of the tie, they will play patiently since there is no reason to rush into anything but we expect their pressure to eventually pay off.
A big survival boost
Burnley had been in big problems ever since Owen Coyle stepped down from the post few weeks back but the players finally gave the fans something to savour after beating direct relegation rivals West Ham at Turf Moor. The Clarets were far from impressive on the day but they took great advantage of the opponents’ mistake and recorded a very important win. However, we all know they are completely different team on the travels and thus their record 0-1-11 in away games. Considering the Clarets failed to score in four of the last five away games and that they will face one of the best defences in the Premiership, we see a good value in backing Burnley not to score at 2.10 offered by Paddy Power.
New signings David Fox and David Nugent both got on the scoresheet against West Ham and are likely to keep their places in the starting line-up, but Graham Alexander and Steven Caldwell remain sidelined. Chris McCann, Christian Calvenes and Stephen Jordan are all doubtful for this clash.
Betting verdict
Fulham are slowly rediscovering their form and they are expected to play a good game against Burnley, who picked up just one point on the travels this season. The Clarets are completely ineffectual away from their Turf Moor and they stand no chance of picking up points from very good Fulham side.
