Leonardo can relieve as Nesta is back and the back line seems more stable with him. The Brazilian won’t make any calculations; he will go ahead with Boriello again even though he is not fully fit. Clearly, his presence and the fact that this typical striker means a lot can relieve some pressure of Pato and Ronaldinho. Inzaghi was the end of Marseille in the first leg, but Super Pippo will wait for his chance on the bench.
Offensive Marseille
Their boss Didier Deschamps knows Milan and Italian football very well, as he played for Juventus for one season. His team arrives intending to match Milan in every aspect of the game. Lucho Gonzalez is back, the forwards are faster than Milan’s defense and if the back line manages to isolate the trio Pato-Ronaldinho-Boriello, the French will stand a chance. They lost in Madrid but held on to the second half. The problem is that Real will beat Zurich and even a draw will leave Marseille on third place so they must win Real and hope for Milan’s failure. Too many things should coincide. Anyway, they have complete squad at disposal and the announced line-up suggests that they have no intention of defending. The main battle will be lead in the midfield; Milan did surprise them at Velodrome but Marseille missed their chances. They will have to improve their materialization, which is a problem for all French teams.
