Netherlands - Eredivisie: Den Haag vs PSVDen Haag remained very close to the relegation zone after the 3:0 defeat away to Heerenveen and their position is unlikely to improve after the PSV game. The team from Eindhoven virtually ensured the place in the Europa League knockout rounds, thus they can now fully focus on chasing Twente in Eredivisie.
Den Haag slowly slipping towards the relegation zone
Den Haag are one of the weakest sides in Eredivisie this season but they had a great start to the league campaign and are still above the bottom three despite the poor run of form in the past month or so. They obviously have nothing to hope for when playing the title contenders and this is definitely not the match where they should be searching for survival points. Seeing scored just one goal in last nine games against PSV, we see odds of 1.83 offered by William Hill on Den Haag not to score as too good to pass.
Den Haag picked up just two points from last six league games and unless they improve very soon, they will slip to the relegation zone. Boss Atteveld will have Danny Bujis back after suspension but now Pascal Bosschaart is suspended after picking up a red card against Heerenveen, while Rankovic, Knopper, Zwinkels and Waterman remain injured. The 3:0 defeat to fellow strugglers Heerenveen proved the aforementioned absentees were sorely missed and we don’t think Den Haag will fare much better in this match.
PSV continued the good run
PSV have a great chance to close the gap behind leaders Twente since Steve McClaren’s side host high-flying Ajax on Sunday. This is why we expect Fred Rutten’s men to give their best against ADO Den Haag and continue the great string of results. They have been in impressive form lately and won last ten meetings with Den Haag, thus backing PSV to win at 1.45 offered by Expekt is the right thing to do.
Thanks to the draw at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, Fred Rutten’s side have practically clinched the place in the Europa League knockout stages, while they have also continued the unbeaten run that now stretches to almost eight months. You can imagine the players’ confidence at the moment and we therefore don’t see how Den Haag can avoid a heavy defeat here. Therefore, our advice is to back PSV to score in both halves at 1.83 offered by William Hill.
Betting verdict
This is a real no brainer. PSV are one of the strongest teams in the league and are in outstanding form, whereas Den Haag are are fighting for survival and picked up just two points from last six games. We are positive PSV will win by a big margin.
