Spain - Primera Division: Getafe vs Deportivo Last weekend Getafe lost in the city derby against real Madrid in spite of the fact that they had numerical advantage for over an hour. La Coruna missed a fine opportunity to join the champions’ race, after drawing 1:1 with Gijon at home.
Only one triumph over Deportivo
The team from Madrid suburbs gave a pretty good performance against more illustrious city rivals, but the defense was careless and made two mistake sin three minutes, so the visitors left Santiago Bernabeu empty-handed. Coach Michel can’t count on George Boateng, who got injured on training and he will be out for the next ten games. In ten games played so far against La Coruna, Getafe have a poor record as they won only once and it was three years ago at Alfonso Perez stadium. Getafe are excellent at home this season where they won three games so far. Still, having in mind that they are hosting traditionally dangerous La Coruna, perhaps Stan James’ offer of 1.75 for Getafe not to win might pay off.
Team’s best scorer, Roberto Soldado continued his excellent scoring form, so after a hat trick against Santander he put his team up front against Bilbao. This excellent striker has started his career in Real Madrid, where he played in only six Primera games, before he moved to Osasuna which was the stepping stone for coming to Getafe. Having in mind that Soldado was fatal for Deportivo’s defense last year we think 888 Sport’s offer of 2.50 for Soldado to score seems tempting.
Depor wasted the minimum lead
Last weekend La Coruna missed the chance to reach the sixth minimum triumph this season, after dropping the minimum lead earned by Nouioui’s excellent strike. So far in the season Deportivo won two away games, without conceding a single goal, just like in the Cup against Murcia. La Coruna's tough defense only failed in the games against Real Madrid and Valladolid, when they conceded even seven goals, while in each other match they conceded only one or no goals. Last season Deportivo triumphed at Alfonso Perez, thus confirming the domination in the duels against Getafe, which is why we think Paddy Power’s offer of 2.40 for the visitors to open the score might be worth a shot.
Coach Miguel Angel Lotina can’t count on Andres Guardado and Antonio Thomas, who got injured in the last match and missed practice this week. Nevertheless, Deportivo are in much better form than Getafe, who they won in half of the duels played, while only once did they lose in the suburbs of Madrid. Having in mind that in three of their duels were scored over 2 goals and that neither of these teams can boast a too offensive style, Betfair's offer of 1.87 for under 2.5 goals seems tempting.
Betting verdict
Together with Tenerife, Getafe are the only team that haven’t drawn a game. On the other hand, Deportivo drew the first game in the last round. The only home defeat Getafe suffered was against Barcelona, while this weekend they are hosting in-form La Coruna that are traditionally dangerous rivals. That is why we expect the visitors to continue the good tradition and take three points just like last season.
