Yellow-red seemed impressive at moments and we will see if they can continue that way against Fiorentina. The loss to Lyon on home ground saw Fiorentina say goodbye to the dreams of Champions League knock-out stage. We have already talked about that and the players admitted it in the end. This team is too inexperienced for the European elite which was obvious in the duels against Bayern and French champions. It is better that they ended eliminated as they can now turn to the championship.

Tradition is on Roma’s side

Throughout history Fiorentina didn’t have luck on this ground. Better said, Roma somehow handled them easier than expected which makes Roman side the favourites here. First of all this is a young team, often incapable of handling the pressure outside of Franchi stadium. Second of all, the main weapons of the team, Gillardino and Mutu have missed several games which immediately reflected the results. The way Fiorentina played they can be satisfied with the current status. In the last round they managed to overturn the deficit against Udinese in Florence and if Prandelli manages to copy the system from the second part of the mentioned match it would increase his chance for a positive result. Prandelli still have the motivation against Roma, he was Roma's coach but shortly after his appointment he left the post to take care of his ill wife Manuela. This expert is one of the most notable in Italy and he will probably have the biggest challenge after this game. There are speculations that Prandelli has the biggest chance to inherit Ranieri on Juventus bench in one of the future seasons.
