More news about Man. City

After the impressive start to the season, Hull slumped to the third successive defeat last weekend and the Tigers desperately need one good result to boost their spirits. City is pretty much in the same position, having lost the third straight league match and this will be the chance for both teams to get their campaign back on track.

Hull is on a losing run

The Tigers are in danger of dropping further down in the standings after three consecutive defeats. We have to say that two of those were against Chelsea and Manchester United, and Hull was really impressive at Old Trafford. However, it was the defeat from Bolton last week that was not expected. The Tigers were determined to return to winning ways and started the game against Bolton in a very good fashion. Jaaskelainen was outstanding in Bolton goal and he somehow managed to keep Hull strikers at bay. His remarkable saves helped Bolton get back into the game and the Trotters won the game thanks to Matthew Taylor’s goal. The third defeat in a row will have shaken the players, and Phil Brown will have a difficult task in front of him. Losing another home game could be very painful and the hosts will be under a lot of pressure to take all three points. Brown will once again field very attacking line-up with Cousin and King in attack supported by Geovanni and this is something that City can exploit. Excellent Frenchman Mendy is still used just as a sub and we feel that he would bring a lot of flair to the team if Brown would let him play from the start. Other than long-term injured Fagan and Gardner, Phil Brown has no fresh injury worries.

City in a dangerous zone

After the 6:0 victory over Portsmouth, which marked the arrival of the new owners, everybody though that it was just a sign of things to come and that the team will continue to climb the Premiership table. However, that didn’t happen and apart from a couple of occasional good performances, the team has been mostly disappointing. Their last week’s defeat from Tottenham was the third in a row and the team is now just one point above the relegation zone. Now the atmosphere in the team is really bad and the fans are calling for Hughes’ resignation. The club management have discarded the allegations as unfounded but if the results don’t improve quickly they could change their mind. City started the match against Tottennham brightly and took the lead through Robinho but Gelson’s sending off midway through the first half changed the course of the match. Spurs overturned the deficit and won the match, while Richard Dunne was also sent off. These two are suspended for the match against Hull, while Hughes is still without Petrov, Johnson and Bojinov. Jo will probably return to the starting line-up but Elano is set to continue on the bench.

Betting verdict

This will be a very tight game and also difficult to predict. Both teams are in poor form but this is the chance to start over. The visitors are the better team and we will give small advantage to Manchester City.
