Arsenal are back in the title race

Wenger rested all the first team regulars in that match and they will be ready to face Villa. Gallas and Silvestre impressed in the centre of defense against Manchester and they could be preferred to Kolo Toure once again. With Adebayor injured and Van Persie suspended, the French manager will probably opt for Bendner as a lone striker, although Vela will be ready to step in if needed. Eboue, Eduardo and Rosicky are still injured and they will not be able to help the teammates in this match.

Villa want to return to winning ways

Villa is in danger of losing their good league position after two successive defeats in the Premier League. It will be difficult to get back on track at the Emirates but this Villa team has the quality to surprise the Gunners. The team was unlucky to lose last two games, having dominated the matches against Newcastle and Middlesbrough but they will now have to concentrate on the match with Arsenal. Aston Villa didn’t play at their best against Middlesbrough but they still had enough chances to win the match. However, the visitors profited from two shocking defensive mistakes by Villa’s defense and won the game. This match showed that even though the team’s attack is impressive they could improve in defense. If they repeat that kind of performance against Arsenal, it will be very difficult to achieve a positive result. The team didn’t have a match in midweek and that will have done a team a lot of good after the hectic schedule in the last month or so. Martin O’Neill might have Luke Young and Stillian Petrov back for this match, as they have both started training but he will be sweating over the fitness of John Carew, who missed the last game. Still, Agbonlahor, Milner and Ashley Young should be able to score at least one goal at the Emirates.
