More news about Liverpool

Bolton’s two successive Premier League wins helped them escape from the relegation zone but they will have a very difficult job to try and continue their good run as they will meet Liverpool. The Reds are still tied at the top with Chelsea and they have to win these kinds of games if they want to win the Premier League.

Bolton is out of the relegation zone

Bolton managed to record back to back victories over Manchester City and Hull and escape from the relegation zone. Even though Gary Megson will be encouraged by the good results he cannot be satisfied with team’s performances. They have mostly keeper Jaaskelainen to thank for the two good results and if it hadn’t been for his great saves, Bolton would have easily lost both games. Megson decided to field two strikers against Hull, while Matthew Taylor started on the right wing maybe for the first time in his career. With such a small squad at his disposal, Megson was forced to pick three youngsters to start on the bench and it is obvious that the club will have to sign some new players in the January transfer window. Hull had the upper hand throughout the match but Jaaskelainen was outstanding, thus Taylor’s second half goal was enough for the three points. Bolton allowed Hull two much clear-cut chances and we just wonder how they will cope with Liverpool’s magnificent attack.

Liverpool’s youngsters are not that good

Liverpool continued with good performances in the Premier League, having beaten WBA 3:0. It was another easy home win for Rafa Benitez’s side but the most important thing was that Robbie Keane finally started scoring. The Irishman scored two against West Brom and even though nobody doubted that he would start scoring, it was a big relief for the whole team. Now that he is back in form and Torres has recovered from injury, Benitez shouldn’t worry about the outcome of the match in Bolton. Liverpool played Tottenham on White Hart Lane in the Carling Cup on Wednesday and the Spaniard decided to field second string line-up, while Torres was given the chance to start, thus play some important minutes after recovering from injury. El Nino played almost an hour without any problems and he should start against Bolton. The Reds lost the match in London, as the youngsters showed that they are still far away from the required quality to play in the Premier League. Still, the first team regulars are now rested and ready to take another three points and they should have no problems beating Bolton.

Betting verdict

Bolton did win the last two games but they were largely outplayed by Manchester City and especially Hull. They are allowing too many chances and Liverpool will know how to punish them. The Reds are impressive this season and Torres will return to the starting line-up, thus we are confident in away win.
