This week Champions League - Group B matches
|

This is the chance for Inter to finish the job, after taking seven points from three matches the game in Cyprus will perhaps be the key for an easy finish of the group stage. First of all, after several tough Serie A matches, Italian champion saw that this season will be anything but not an easy walk to new crown. The rivals are stronger, unlike Milan Inter must play in two competitions and Mourinho still hasn’t managed to impose his style. Saturday win in Calabria was a fortunate and undeserved one, so the pressure on controversial Portuguese coach is growing. Honey moon is over. Anorthosis are making history, they are the first Cyprian club that qualified for the Champions League and they don’t intend to stop there. They took four points in the first three rounds, won only Panathinaikos at home and drew in Bremen, while they suffered a minimum loss at Meazza to Inter two weeks ago. They did lose but they weren't humiliated.
Cyprus in trance
Anorthosis investments are too big for Cyprus but they can’t compare to the investments of the clubs from West Europe. Already in the second qualifying round it was obvious that this won’t be just another season when this club, originally founded in Famagusta in the Turkish part of Cyprus eliminated favoured Austrian champion Rapid. Then they ran over Olympiakos in two unforgettable games and moved on to the group stage which already seems as a dream come true. They resisted in Bremen, beat Panathinaikos and former Newcastle player, now young and already established coach Temur Ketzbaia still insist that the aim is third place and UEFA Cup competition. Yet, the appetites have grown, for example, in case they win Werder at home and triumph in Athens, Anorthosis could get to the knock-out stage.
Mourinho will shuffle his cards
Already on Sunday his team will host Udinese. Adriano’s suspension is still on, and moving him from the team shows that Portuguese coach doesn’t let anyone undermine his authority, however Cruz has been brought back to the team. Inter boss will probably rest couple of player, Chivu is injured and he also won’t risk with Cambiasso. Inter hasn’t yet finished their work, but they have seven points, drew with Werder at home, and they will try to win in Cyprus but anyway, the decisive match will be hosting Panathinaikos. We saw two faces of Italian champions against Reggina; they easily opened the score but also allowed the rivals to get back in the game and found themselves in the situation to save their skin in injury time when Cordoba helped them win. Mourinho relieved but this game is not quite a good indicator that they're on the right track.
Betting Verdict
It is not easy to play in Cyprus, the stadium will be full to the last place, noisy Greeks will boost their side that will probably opt for closed formation trying to keep the opening score. An early Inter goal could change that but we don’t believe that the visitors will attack either, they will be careful in their attempt not to allow Greek strikers jeopardize Julio Cesar. If in any case the match turns into an open fight chasing for victory it would suit Cyprians better. Odds for Inter to win are too low and not worth the risk, try betting on small number of goals as it would be no surprise even if the game ended scoreless.
