This game will be one of the most interesting of Primera 8th round. It will be a min-regional derby for many reasons. The clubs from two biggest Andalusian cities meet, Malaga have marked three and Sevilla four successive wins. Sevilla got hold of the second place where they are level on points with Villarreal. Their rivals will have a tough match against Atletico Madrid which gives Sevilla a chance in case Villarreal lose, to have the second place all for themselves, or even climb on top if Valencia lose in Huelva.

A win for the top

Although they have the chance to climb on top in case they win Malaga and Valencia and Villarreal both lose, Sevilla players know that it is not likely to happen. No one in the club cares much for the top position right now. Their plan is to be at the very top and attack the top spot in the second part of the season. Fourth successive win they marked last week in Almeria is a confirmation of club’s good work and good atmosphere. Unlike last season, Manuel Jimeney has a much more peaceful surroundings to work in so the results are great. There are no more tensions, each players knows exactly what is his role in the team and defence i flawless lately. For three games now Palop didn't saw the ball behind his back which is not an easy thing to do in such a championship as Spanish Primera. After three straight wins Malaga travel encouraged to Sanchez Pizjuan as they have reassured all that predicted them only one short season in Primera. Adriano, Kanoute, Luis Fabiano, Capel and Maresca will do their best to put Malaga back on the ground.

Great challenge

A win in the last round against serious and quality rivals, such as Getafe, definitely confirmed that Malaga’s previous wins weren’t accidental. After very poor results in the first four games and only one point taken, blue-white seem to have woken up and finally got used to playing in Primera. Duda and Baha have brought the necessary points to their side, but the whole team participated. The game in Seville is certainly a great challenge for Malaga players, and we shouldn’t doubt in the great support of their fans. There is a great rivalry between the two biggest cities in Andalusia. It will be very hard to stop Sevilla machinery, but Malaga boss, Antonio Tapia boosted his side’s confidence by saying for the press that his locomotive is steaming so Sevilla are in for a hard time. The club from Malaga would settle for a point.

Betting Verdict

Sevilla are, of course, the favourites in this game and won’t have an easy task. Malaga scored a lot in the last few games and their defense works just great. A draw is a possibility.
