Derby della Mole, derby of the city Torino, was given the name by the tallest museum in the World, which overlooks the city – centre of the Piemonte region. Certainly the match between Juventus and Torino isn’t as important as derbies between Milan and Inter or Roma and Lazio, only because Juventus is much bigger and more successful club. Still, this is the match of the season for the fans, the hatred is really big and it has happened that Torino gives their best, wins the match against big rival and then loses the following week from much weaker opponent. This match comes in the bad moment for both sides. Torino lost last three games and coach De Biasi’s position is not safe. His counterpart, Ranieri, was in the worse situation but managed to postpone the sack with a great win over Real in the Champions League. Still, bad performances in league games and only two points from four games made Juventus slip down the league table. If they fail to beat Torino Ranieri will be under a tremendous pressure. Juventus has to be fighting for the title, and the fans will not settle for anything less and no wonder that the fans are not satisfied.

Juventus was brave against Real

The team is plagued with injuries, the whole team is on the sidelines, including six first-team regulars. The last player who was injured is Marchisio, who was forced to come off against Real and he will be out for a month. Injured players are recovering slowly, while Zaneti and Buffon were thought to have minor injuries but they will be out for longer than predicted. Because all this, we cannot say that Juventus is the favourite here. They did win against Real, but mostly thanks to individual quality of Amauri and Del Piero and experience of some other players. Maybe Real underestimated them, as when Real pressed in the last half an hour, Juventus had a lot of problems. Of course, Torino hasn’t got the quality to make them big problems but Juve is struggling and they have problems with finishing. If the Bulls are to have a positive result the Old Lady will get nervous. Let us remind you that creativity is the main problem for Juventus and they will have a difficult job breaking Torino[s packed defense.

Torino deserved more against Cagliari

The performance was not too bad, they managed to create a lot of chances but failed to score. They were punished and De Biasi is now nearing the sack even though the club voiced support after yet another failure. The alternatives are ready. Novellino, who was sacked last season but is still on Torino’s pay role, could be given the chance…the other name is Camolese, who coached Granata, his first club. Lust like last season, Torino has problems in attack. They started well but as the time goes by they look more and more afraid and insecure. The team played some very difficult games, having faced Inter, Lazio and Udinese. The results are expected to improve once they start playing some weaker teams. They entered the relegation fight last season but it seems that the team is better than the results are showing.

Betting verdict

The bookmakers upped the odds on Juventus but don’t get fooled. Last season, when Juve was stronger and with the clean bill of health, they won the game thanks to Trezeguet’s goal in injury time. The second match ended 0:0 in a poor match where both teams adopted a cautious approach. Now the teams are in a similar situation, we should expect a tough midfield battle. Juventus’ players are tired after the Champions League match and it remains to be seen what team will Ranieri field. Anyway there won’t be a lot of goals. This is the best bet in this round, especially as the 1.88 odds on Pinnacle are great.
