This week England - Premier League matches
|
Both teams are going through a very difficult period, with Newcastle certainly in the worse position. Everton will try to make amends for their elimination from the UEFA Cup, and the defeat from Liverpool. Newcastle keeps losing and there are no signs of improvement. They lost four last league games, three of those at home.
Moyes will not leave the sinking ship
Even though the speculation about Moyes’ departure is mounting after recent setbacks, the Scott remains adamant that he will not leave the club. It is funny how the public’s opinion can change so quickly, and now everybody forgets the time when Moyes was hailed for his success at Everton. The elimination from Standard in the UEFA Cup certainly didn’t help. Defensive mistakes in the first leg have put Everton into the bad position before the return leg in Belgium. Impressive home side knew how to finish the job and leave Everton in a difficult position before the future challenges. Just few days before, Everton lost the big derby from Liverpool and Thursday’s defeat just made things worse. David Moyes have to work hard to think of the solution for their current crises, and Everton will meat the team that is pretty much in the same position. Everton will be without influential Tim Cahill, who will serve his suspension, but one positive is that Steven Pienaar played some part in the game against Standard, and he is expected to play some more against Newcastle.
Joe Kinnear is the new interim manager
Newcastle suffered their fourth successive defeat in the Premier League as they lost at home to Blackburn. The team has new interim manager, Joe Kinnear, and he will lead the team until the club gets the new owners. He will have a very difficult job of lifting the players’ spirits, and the game against Everton will be his first in charge of Newcastle. The players have been affected with all that has been going on in the club, and no wonder the results are poor. To top that some important players were injured, which added to the growing number of problems. Kinnear will have midfielder Danny Guthrie back after he served a suspension, while left back Jose Enrique recovered from injury, and he will be in contention. Habib Beye is doubtful, while Smith, Martins and Gutierrez are definitely out. All of these players missed last couple of matches, which means the team will be stronger than in the last game.
Betting verdict
This will be very strange match, as both teams are in a crisis. While Newcastle’s players are slowly getting used to their current situation, this is something new for Everton. Based solely on that, we will try with small stake on away win.
