This week England - Premier League matches
|
Blackburn enters this game in high spirits after three consecutive wins in all the competitions entered. Rovers took advantage of Newcastle’s bad form and won the game at St James Park. Manchester United also won their last three games, but the good atmosphere has been impaired by injuries to Scholes and Rooney.
Ince impressed at Blackburn
Things were not looking good after 4:0 defeat at home from Arsenal and the fans started doubting Ince’s credentials. The team conceded four goals for the second time in a row, and the alarm bells were on. Ince somehow managed to stabilize his team, and they won their last three games conceding just one goal in the process. Good work has started to produce results and everybody at the club is delighted with the new manager. Ryan Nelsen heaped praise on Ince for all the hard work he had done from the start of the season, and it is clearly good thing to have the players on your side. The team played very well against Newcastle, and their defense looked particularly good, and they conceded the only goal from the penalty spot. Keeper James Brown impressed, as he replaced injured Paul Robinson, and Ince will not have to worry even if Robinson doesn’t recover in time for this match. Ince will pack his defense and try to keep United’s strikers at bay, as the point will be enough for Blackburn.
Scholes and Rooney are injured
Sir Alex Ferguson will be cursing his luck, as just when the team started to reach their form, his two key players Rooney and Scholes got injured in the match against Aalborg. While Rooney is very important player for the team, Ferguson has enough attacking options to cover for his absence, but it will be very difficult replacing Scholsey. Veteran playmaker is the heart of this team, and his ability to always play the right pass is what differentiates him from the others. He is expected to be out for up to eight weeks, and that is a big blow for the team. With both Carrick and Hargreaves injured, Ferguson only has Anderson and Fletcher to fill the centre midfield positions. United struggled to break Bolton in their last league game, even though they created enough opportunities to score. Poor finishing has been the biggest problem from the start of the season, and recent injuries will certainly not help. The team defeated Aalborg 3:0 in midweek, but Blackburn defense will be a lot tougher to break.
Betting verdict
Paul Ince looks to have sorted Blackburn’s defense, and they only conceded once in the last three games. Ince will opt for more defensive approach, as he is aware of United’s attacking potential. Without Scholes and Rooney, Manchester will have troubles creating chances against packed Blackburn’s defense, which is why we will opt for under 2.5 goals.
