This week Russia - Premier League matches
|
This season won’t be a pleasant memory for Spartak Moscow . They had high ambitions and no matter how it ends, none of their set goals won’t be accomplished. They will remember the slap from Kyiv for a long time; their ex-rivals from USSR era taught them a football lesson in the Champions League qualifications and coach Cherchesov ended up paying for that. Prior to that, he sent legendary captain Titov away as well as Ukrainian attacker Kalinichenko.. The club seemed chaotic and new sports director Karpin announces better days. Temporary coach will be Lediakov; many famous names are options for the next season; the most successful Russian club are fourth at the moment but they can hardly catch up with city rivals Dynamo on second, not to mention Rubin. ON Sunday afternoon relaxed Nalchik arrive at Luzhniki; they play good, took a point last week against CSKA and calmly await the last third of the season.
Spartak have gone last three games without a victory
However they haven’t lost in the last six, but they have even four draws… it is not all lost but the problem is that in spite of numerous investments this team certainly doesn't have the strength for a serious contention for the top. Last year’s vice-champion position behind dominant Zenit was a success but the fans are aware that the title race is not going to happen this years. Next year Zenit will again focus on the championship, CSKA will probably invest in creating a new team. And the rest of the clubs also seem as threats. You can’t fool the fans, Spartak will probably lose Pavlychenko, several other players want to go… All of this leaves bitter taste. They play in front of almost empty stands, the most devoted ones are boycotting them since the match against Lokomotiv by the middle of July. They are in for a period where they play against weaker rivals but a real hell awaits them in the finish. Perhaps we are wrong but even with a comparatively high place on the standings Spartak don’t seem ready for big stuff, that is to say, for the Champions League contention.
Nalchik made a couple of surprises this season
The biggest one was definitely the victory in Sankt Petersburg but they also won CSKA at Luzhniki, remained unbeaten against Lokomotiv and Amkar… No one expected such harvest on the road. Current 8th place agrees with their ambitions, the important thing is to stay out of the relegation battle and we can say that this aim is already accomplished. Last week they drew a boring match against CSKA but they settled for a point. It is obvious that they are slowly losing energy since they usually play with a thin bench but anyway, they arrive to Moscow relaxed so favourites won't have it easy. In the first pat of the season in Nalchik in the south of Russia they ended up losing to Spartak but as we said Nalchik were a nightmare for the best Russian teams away.
Betting Verdict
With 1.50 there is no need to risk, Spartak are the favourites but Nalchik managed to win even better teams away. They will play relaxed, probably won’t defend, there are no reasons for calculations, with 25 points they are in the golden middle… Endangered Shinnik have only 14. That is why we opt for goals, if Nalchik shale the opposite net, we will probably see fireworks at Luzhniki, Spartak create a lot of chances but also miss a lot. With 1.95 for over 2.5 goals it is worth a shot, but with a small stake.
