Italy - Serie A: Fiorentina vs Juventus

This is the derby of the first Serie A round. The match at Franchi will draw a lot of attention as always when Viola play against hated rivals. If calciopoli was the reason for the lack of ambitions last season, now there are no such excuses. If you have seen Juve in the last season, they had a lot of profit from the fact that they didn't play in Europe, won all of the big rivals, including Milan, Inter and Roma but the problem were matches against weaker clubs. To be totally honest, we should mention that the referees were an obstacle in their way to a higher place but Juventus didn’t deserve the title. Truth to be told, we don't see Juventus in title contention but the thing that has through history made them stick out from all of the other Italian teams is incredible will power and self-confidence. Anyway, third place, as last season would be a success.

Betting Verdict

Both sides are weakened for this match; Mutu won't be able to help Fiorentina while Juventus' problems are far more serious. Sissoko and Chiellini won’t play. Visitors’ main advantage is huge offensive potential; they have probably the best attack in Serie A but the rest of the team, slow defence and clueless midfield are not on the same level. It often happens that Del Piero must come back to the midfield and organize the attack. If Mutu was on the team we would suggest betting on Fiorentina, this way we are not sure, but anyway we believe that there will be a lot of goals. We suggest over 2.5 goals since without Chiellini, Buffon will be like in front of a firing squad. On the other hand, few people can resist Del Piero and Trezeguet.
