Arsenal created a big advantage in the first leg despite the fact that the match was pretty much even before the leading goal. The English, or should we say French side, took advantage of the Twente's lack of experience in the European competitions and swung the game in their favour. Twente has beaten Ajax in the league play offs and got the chance to compete for the group stage place. They hoped that the new manager Steve McClaren can help them with his knowledge of the London team, but nothing helped and they lost the game 2:0. The Dutch can now only hope for a miracle as they travel to London.
Arsenal finished the job in the first leg
The team from North London had some problems with injured players before the first leg and Wenger had to give the chance to some very young players. The teams were evenly matched in the first half and neither team could have created the advantage. Arsenal took advantage of their experience in the European competitions, and scored two goals in the second half through Gallas and Adebayor, and made sure they have the upper hand before the return leg. Wenger still has a lot of players injured, with Eduardo, Rosicky, Fabregas, Diaby and Bischoff all on the sidelines. Philip Senderos has joined Milan on a one year loan deal. Arsenal will look to keep the possession of the ball for as long as possible and even score some goals despite the advantage.
Twente will have to learn
Twente was the surprise package of last season in Holland, as they finished fourth in the overall standings and managed to beat big Ajax in the play offs to reach the Champions League qualifying round. The team suffered some changes this summer, as the coach Fred Ruten left the post, taking Engelaar with him to Schalke, and ex England manager Steve McClaren took his place. New manager was given the chance to meet the team he knows from the Premier League but first meeting did not go too well for his side as they conceded two second half goals and lost the game. Twente will be without Marko Arnautovic, who suffered the hamstring tear, while Blaise Nkufo remains suspended. Right back Luke Wilshire has been sold to Dinamo Moscow.

Arsenal won the first leg thanks to two second half goals, as Twente paid his debt to lack of experience. Arsenal still misses a lot of first team players, and the defeat to Fulham showed how bad the team needs them. Nevertheless, the Gunners have a big advantage and their Champions League spot should not come into question. Twente could have got more from the first game, and they will be eager to improve on the impression from the first game. Both teams are expected to play attacking football and we are expecting to see some goals.
