This week England - Premier League matches
|
Manchester City showed they were shaken by the problems in the club, and it seems that the players were unable to focus fully on the pitch. Although Aston Villa is a very good team, four goals which City conceded in the second half of that game are really too much. Mark Hughes will have to find a way to inspire his players to win this game. Alan Curbishley still has a lot of injured players, but the rest of the squad seems to be coping well, as they won their opening game against Wigan.
City is in a lot of problems
Although Mark Hughes insisted that his players shouldn’t worry about problems in the club, but focus on the pitch, it seems that he did not persuade them to believe him. The club owner is allegedly faces charges of corruption, and the future of the club remains in balance. The players are affected by this, as the loss against Midtjylland in the UEFA Cup qualifying round showed. This was visible in the game with Aston Villa, when the team conceded three times in the space of seven minutes. The team will again have problems with strikers, as Bojinov, Mwaruwari and Vassel are injured while Jo is still unavailable despite the fact that his team is out of the competition at the Olympics. This leaves only youngster Ched Evans and Daniel Sturridge in the running.
West Ham defeated Wigan
At the example of West Ham can be seen how important it is to have a big squad in the competition such as Premier League, as they constantly have at least seven injured players. Despite that the other players are good enough to replace them and the results do not suffer. Every team would be devastated to have players like Bellamy, Dyer and Ferdinand injured, among others. But West Ham learned to cope with the situation, as last season things were pretty much the same regarding injuries. The team managed to beat Wigan thanks to a great start, when Dean Ashton’s brace swung the game in their favour. The team will be without the same players that missed the last game, while Dean Ashton is doubtful after sustaining injury in the game against Wigan.
Betting verdict
Manchester City has a lot of problems in the club, and it is affecting the performances. They conceded four times in the second half of the game with Aston Villa, which shows that something is wrong. And on top of that Hughes cannot count on four strikers and only young Evans and Sturridge are available. West Ham seems to be doing well without their injured players, but they were lucky to score two early goals against Wigan, which eased their job significantly. We think this will be a low scoring game, and advise you to bet accordingly.
