This week England - Premier League matches
|
West Brom will welcome Everton in front of the full crowd, in an attempt to take first points this season. The baggies fought bravely at the Emirates, and created some good chances, but the hosts were too strong for them and Nasri’s goal decided the winner. Everton too started the season with a defeat, as they lost at home to Blackburn. Manager Moyes couldn’t find replacements for injured Pienaar and Cahill, and great Arteta was not enough for more than a narrow defeat. They will look to make things right in this game, and we should expect an interesting game.
West Brom is not making compromises
After convincing promotion from the Championship, ambitious manager Tony Mowbray, stated that he didn’t want to change the team’s attacking style of play, even when they face the strongest teams in England. His team showed that he had really meant it, by the attacking approach to the game with Arsenal. This was a very brave thing to do as we all know that Arsenal creates a lot of chances at home. The baggies did lose the game, but also created some chances and they could take at least a point from the game. This game will be a good opportunity to take first three points in front of the sold out stadium. Teixeira and Clement will miss this game because of injuries, while Koren and Moore have started training and will be available for selection. Zuiverloon is back from the Olympics, but he is suffering from jet leg, and may miss this game.
Arteta is not enough
David Moyes expected a lot from this season, as he wanted to sign some new players, to add to existing quality in the squad. Despite a lot of attempts to sign new players, he couldn’t sign a single one. Injuries to Tim Cahill and Steven Pienaar, and the departure of Andy Johnson made bad situation even worse and the defeat at the hands of Blackburn was no surprise. The team was left with only one creative player, Mikel Arteta, and his inspired performance was not enough for a positive result against Blackburn. After visitors took the lead Arteta scored one and set up another to put his team in front, but usually very reliable Lescott mada a mistake and the result was leveled. Ooijer scored in injury time to insure his team the victory. Cahill, Pienaar, Hibbert and Van Der Meyda are all still injured.
Betting verdict
The full Hawthorns stadium will expect that the baggies can win this game and put the first points on the board. The team played a good game against Arsenal, and despite the loss, their fans will be happy with their efforts. This is a chance to beat Everton when they are weakened by injuries, and the hosts will start attacking from the start. Everton has a small squad, and these injuries have really shaken them. The hosts will attack them and this will be opportunity for Arteta to set up his strikers after counter attacks. Considering all this, we advise you to bet on over 2.5 goals.
