After a season’s break, Wolves and The Billy Goats will again have the chance to cross swords in new Bundesliga season. Wolfsburg have high ambitions in this championship while Koln will try to keep their newly promoted status in the nest season.
Magath spent most money on back-ups
No club in Bundesliga has had so much work in the transfer business during the summer transfer window as Wolfsburg did. Coach Felix Magath perhaps gave up the captain and the best player, Marcelinho too easily, who went back home, but judging by the acquisitions Magath’s side are one of the title contenders in Germany.
The Wolves have been very active in the preparation period when they scored even 65 goals in 15 games, which is a fantastic score. Perhaps the weakest link in Wolfsburg last season was defense, but that is why Wolves will start the new season reinforced by the two Italian internationals who became World champions two years ago on German soil. Of course, those are Cristian Zaccardo and Andrea Barzagli, who got a lot of money to leave Palermo and join the Wolves. The leading role in the midfield will be trusted with former Nurnberg member and Bosnian international Zvjezdan Misimovic, who has also arrived to Wolfsburg during summer transfer window. Coach Magath has made a really fantastic team who should have no problems in fighting for a European spot next season, and perhaps claim their candidacy for the title.
The Billy Goats have also created a mighty team for the new season
After only one season of break in Zweite, Koln came back to Bundesliga in style. Led by the controversial Cristoph Daum, the Billy Goats will most likely be the biggest surprise of the league.
Just like Wolfsburg, Koln have recorded some excellent results in the preparation matches, so they will start Bundesliga opening match with a lot of confidence. New main star in the team is experienced Portuguese international, Petit who arrived this summer from Benfica and his task will be to spoil the rival's play. Also Wome came from Werder, so the team that play primarily offensive football gained a lot in the defense line as well. As for the attacking part of the team, main role will again be trusted with excellent Novakovic who will be joined by former Wolfsburg player, Radu.
