 Chelsea looks to launch a new title bid when they host Portsmouth. Scolari took over from Avram Grant, which means we will see more attacking football from Chelsea. Deco came from Barcelona, and he can prove the missing link in the Blues’ squad. Lampard has just signed a new deal, and the two of them will orchestrate the proceedings in midfield. Portsmouth lost the Community Shield on penalties, but the team has high ambitions this season. Crouch and Defoe are paired in attack, and this partnership can be very productive.
Scolari and Deco for the title
Roman Abramovich finally decided to bring attacking minded manager in Luis Scolari, and Chelsea fans are eager to see how their team will play. Crouch and Defoe lead the attack

The team had started really well and they were even at the top for a while, but when they lost a few players who left to play on African Nations Cup, the team started to fall down the table. Redknapp want to keep the club near the top, as he showed by buying Peter Crouch, who is now partnered with Jermain Defoe. The team lost on penalties in the Community Shield to Manchester United. The only player who left the team was Sulley Muntari, who is now Inter player. Beside Crouch, Glen Little and Younes Kaboul joined the club and now Redknapp has more options to choose from. Chelsea is stronger for Scolari and Deco this year. They have good chances of clinching the title, as Lampard and Deco are capable of producing a lot of chances for the strikers. Scolari will want to make a good start of his career in Chelsea, and will ask from his players to attack from the start.
