The final match of the season in Italy, at least when it comes to elite. Final Cup clash will take place at Olimpico, and unlike the last few years only one match will be played. The rivals are the same as in the previous seasons, Inter and Roma that were in contention for Serie A title will decide this trophy too. Roma’s motivation is certainly higher, not only because they have a trophy to defend but also because Roma players' bitter statements showed what they think of Inter's title. De Rossi and couple of other players have said that Inter are champions only thanks to the referees and that their side is the best Italian team. Neroazzurri responded that it is pure jealousy and that there is nothing to object to their title. It is hard to see all of this from the referee point of view but the fact is that Inter was protected while the rivals, first of all Juventus and Milan have been seriously damaged. That is why it is understandable why Moratti couldn’t hide his dissatisfaction with the second part of the season and why he is thinking about ending his cooperation with Mancini.
Roma didn’t have a hard time to the finals
Roman side beat Catania in the semi-finals. It was not a memorable play, but Spalletti have the excuse that the team was thinking more about the championship since there was a chance to leapfrog Inter in the finish. This season Roma played three times against their great rivals. They won the Supercup duel, lost in Rome but they also outplayed Inter in Milan. Inter captain Zanetti saved his side after Mexes was sent-off which saw Roman side protest. They won the cup in the last two years and they wish to defend the trophy. This won't be much of a consolation for lo scudetto, but let us be realistic, Roma got in the title race only thanks to Inter's failures. It is their own fault, in a way, because they dropped points against weaker sides, like Livorno or Empoli, the relegated sides.
Inter are not satisfied with the new rules
This game had an intro because Inter complained about the fact that the finals will take place at Olimpico and that Roma will have the advantage if only one game is played. Moratti even said to the fans, while celebrating lo scudetto, that there is a possibility of fielding the youth squad in the finals, which would probably bring about a punishment from Football Federation. If we compare this situation with the last season, the question is how much Inter are interested since last year they easily lost the finals, having won the championship. They wouldn’t mind winning double crown but we said that their motivation is not on the highest level and that Mancini probably won’t field the strongest line-up. Inter have lately been dealing more with possible transfers for Frank Lampard and Samuel Etoo but also with talking about Mancini’s fate.

We believe that Rom are a better side although they are without Totti, in the second part they have proven that they play better than Inter. The fact that they play at hem is also important and although Inter will have their fans at Olimpico, Romini will outnumber them. The trophy is very important for Roma, Spalletti will field the strongest line-up eager to end the season with a triumph. Giallorossi certainly stand more chance of winning.
