In spite of the defeat they suffered, Sochaux have mathematically secured their place, while PSG stand fine chance of staying in the first league after all of their problems.

Much better away

The fact that Sochaux marked much better results away seems strange, if you have in mind that they haven’t lost at home this year. And it is even more strange that they secured their place in the league only in the finish. It is because the first part of the season was a disaster and by the beginning of January they were the main relegation contenders together with Metz. But then they started playing as if they were reborn, slowly moving away from the relegation zone. They started playing good at home too and they managed to win four away games in succession. After this spell it was clear that they will stay in the league next season. This was their only aim.
Last week they failed to resist Bordeaux. Girondins were superior and more dangerous and took their three points easily. Sochaux seem to have paid more attention to the duels of three relegation contenders.
They will definitely try to make things more difficult for PSG but they will have to do that without Perquis and Birsa.

Finally out of relegation zone

PSG kept disappointing everyone round after round, and the situation reached its climax two or three weeks ago when the fans started threatening. The president was replaced and it seems that all of this affected the players.
They first won Auxerre, then followed two draws and now they are one point ahead of Lens and Toulouse. It seems that they have already now secured their place since Lens must win Bordeaux which is not likely to happen. Still, they wish to solve their destiny on their own, instead of relying on other sides' weaknesses.
Last week they managed to take a point at Parc Des Princes against St. Etienne. They again played great and Landreau was one of the most responsible players for the point. The point taken that could mean survival definitely means more to them than the quality of play.
They will play without Mendy and Digard but Rothen is back in the team.

Sochaux are one of the weakest hosts in the league that haven’t lost this year, while PSG are one of the best visitors but without an away win this year. The visitors will definitely try to win and secure their place, but Sochaux are excellent at counterattacks and they will use empty space in Saints defense. We think that home side are closer to victory since PSG have on several occasions demonstrated that they can’t handle the pressure. Odds are very good and we think that it is worth a shot but make it a small stake since the motivation is on the visitors' side.
