 Super Depor is coming to Madrid where they will be hosted by mighty Atletico. Home team would secure Champions League football with the win and players will do their best to make their fans happy again. They certainly deserved that. On the other hand, Deportivo will try to continue with their hopes that UEFA Cup is not out of reach. They need win at Calderon for that and it certainly won’t be easy.
Fiesta is ready to start
For the Deportivo game, there will be the special program for all the Atletico society members that will come to Madrid from the all over of Spain. It is expected that stands will be full, and that after the last whistle Vicente Calderon will explode from the joy and happiness. If Atletico wins, they will play in the European elite league for the first time after 11 years. They did this in the season 1996/97 for the last time, when they have been under the charge of Serbia coach Radomir Antic and when they reached semifinals. In the semis, Ajax was better but only cause Juan Eduardo Esnaider missed the penalty. If he scored, Juventus would played against Atletico. In the meantime, in the last 11 years, lot of things happened at Calderon. They fall down, they had tax police in the club, had to sell all the players and to play in the the hell of Segunda for two seasons, at cities like Sestaa and Almendraleja that you probably never heard for. After coming back to the Primera, they could not find right way to reach the top for a long time. They changed managers, players, but they have not been able to find successful combination. Finally, this year, Atletico has great chance to finish the season at 4th place. It would be regarded as a failure just 10 years ago, but it is huge success after years of downfall. We have to say that these celebrations had not been lucky before. Whenever Atletico fans started to celebrate before the real end, it brought them bad luck. But this time, team looks very good and the chance is so big that they just can not lose.
Deportivo is coming to Fiesta
Deportivo did excellent job in the second half of the season. They even have some chances for UEFA Cup place, but it will be hard task to achieve at Calderon. It looks like they will have to take their chance in the last edition of Intertoto Cup this year, if they want to gain European experience next year. Atletico easily won at Riazor by 3:0, but Deportivo significantly improved after that. Now, they are playing great football, they are scoring loads of goals and they have excellent defense. In the last 17 matches, team from La Coruna conceded only 14 goals, and in lot of them they kept a clean sheet. Something similar Atletico is achieving in last couple of games. They improved their defense as well, and conceded only 1 goal in last 3 games. Still, home team defense is used to make lot of mistakes in one game, and Deportivo fans are hoping that something similar could happen against them.

Deportivo is 9 points below Atletico, but after bad start they deserved to be treated like equal to top Spanish clubs. Still, it is the crucial match for Atletico and they will do everything to make this final step and to win the 4th place and Champions League football next year.
