It seems there`s no hope left for Livorno...They`ll finish the season the way they started it, at the bottom. Tuscanians did escape from the bottom with a great series of games against direct rivals, later on, and it seemed they might survive. However, another dark series and an accidental draw against Roma in last 5 games, have all pushed them down to bottom again. They hold only 30 points and their verdict was sealed by Atalanta last week. Amarantis were with disastrous defense, didn`t have a clue how to attack in first-half, so the defeat and relegation were expected. Only a miracle – wins over Torino and Empoli, could keep their hopes alive. Torino made a giant step towards survival winning over Napoli, who seem to have lost deliberately. Torino are 3 points ahead of Parma, they will play against Fiorentina in the final round but a point or three in Livorno would probably leave them in the league. It`s not all over yet, De Biasi asked for a complete dedication to this game, Granata struggled against Napoli, but lack of motivation decided that game.
Livorno with no solution when attacking
Now it is perfectly clear that they couldn`t make up for team`s icon Cristiano Lucarelli`s leaving. While Ciccio Tavano scored, omissions were easily masked because the team had great defense, while under Camolese, and won as much as 3 away games against direct rivals. After his injury and recover, he was utterly out of shape and Tristan proved to be a failure for the most of the season. Livorno failed to win few home games against bottom teams they had in the spring. They lack creative players in the middle, except for Diamanti and it`s no wonder they create very few opportunities for scoring. Their return to Serie B, after few seasons, is well deserved.
Torino expected much more this season
It could also be applied for most of Torino`s seasons among elite. They must be the poorest judge of their own quality in whole of Italy. They announced fighting for the UEFA Cup last summer, as always. Former coach Novellino did not rule out the possibility of the race for Champions League, encouraged by reinforcements such as Recoba and Di Michele. In reality, they found themselves struggling for survival. President Cairo recently got fed up with it, Novellino was fired and De Biasi was brought back from Spain. The coach was a lesser problem than poor job during transfer window. They lack a classic forward and it`s no wonder Torino are said to be king of draws....they won only 7 games this season. This experience should be a warning before summer transfer window.

Odds for Torino are 1.85. Bookies start with the fact that Livorno are as good as in Serie B already. After riots in Bergamo, as much as 6 their players were banned, so Nando Orsi won`t have an easy job. They`ve got nothing to lose, they must play openly. Although our favorite bet for Livorno was usually UNDER, now things are different. It will be all or nothing this time, both teams will probably score so over 2.5 goals is very likely...odds of 2.10 are worth the risk.
