There`s a very slight distinction between Ipswich and Hull in terms of quality and table placement, but Hull made a better general impression this season. This game, equally important for both teams, will be a test of their value. Hull are certain to be in play-off, they might even make it to 2nd place, while Ipswich stand a chance for play-off if they win this game and with some other results work in their favor.

Slight hope for Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town equalized late in the away game in Preston (1:1), thus keeping their play-off hopes alive. They were put ahead at Deepdale stadium after Miller`s great kick, but home side leveled 11 minutes before end. However, Jonathan Walters gave hope for manager Jim Magilton`s squad that a miracle could happen in the final round.

The team of Portman Road aren`t at their prime form, their previous away game against Wolves was also saved by a late equalizer. It`s their habit to fight bravely till the end and never give up and it brought them 2 points in a series of games with variable success. If they don`t win over Hull and some other results fail to work in their favor, they`ll fail to achieve their target but most of all due to poor away performance throughout the most of the season.

Tigers secured play-off status

Hull secured their position in play-off, but still stand a chance for automatic promotion if they win in Ipswich and Stoke lose to Leicester. Home win against direct rivals Crystal Palace (2:1) showed Tigers` maturity and quality of the squad who never give up since the winner was scored with just 5 minutes to go.

Hull won as much as 8 of last 11 games, lost just 2. This amazing series put Tigers 2nd for a moment, but they`re more likely to be in play-off. This was a true renaissance, compared to previous season when they reached safety during final rounds, and it seems like manager Phil Brown is leading them towards the greatest success in their history.

Betting verdict

The game at Portman Road will be one of the most exciting in the final round. Those are two strong teams seeking their chance to get hold of 3 points, although a win would not automatically mean achievement of their goals. A tough game where a win is important for both sides, does not necessarily mean plenty of goals. Recommending to avoid betting on it, we`ll suggest a draw, an outcome not suitable for either team.
