Owls will play at home against Norwich, the latter already secured their survival and won`t pay much attention to this game. It`s a great opportunity for Wednesday to confirm their status in the Championship by this win, they are in good shape and the win over Leicester was a good overture.

Owls set for crucial win

It was an away win that could easily turn out to be a crucial one for their survival, over arch rivals for survival, Leicester (3:1). Although Leicester were put ahead (0:1), Owls managed to miss a penalty through Deon Burtin, and also score equalizer before end of first-half. Another veteran (Steve Watson) scored after the break, and Leon Clarke scored the final goal close to end of game.

It seems unbelievable that a team struggling for survival were defeated just once in last 11 games. Far too many draws and very few wins in their last series brought them an ardous struggle and it would be over only if they manage to win over Norwich. If that doesn`t happen, everything will depend on the game between Southampton and Leicester.

Canaries relaxed after securing their status

After a comprehensive win over QPR (3:0), Norwich City ensured they will be playing in the Championship next season. The crucial moment was when visitors` Stewart was sent off early in 4th minute, it was all easy for Canaries afterwards, reaching their win through goals by Evans, Fotheringham and Russell.

The bitter-sweet season for manager Glen Roeder and his squad is finally over. Considering their situation in November 2007 (holding just 8 points and 5 points off the follow-up team), former Newcastle`s manager has done a great job at Carrow Road.

Betting verdict

Norwich will be highly unmotivated for this game. They have just reached survival and released themselves from the pressure, Roeder will probably give young players a chance. Wednesday are in a great mess, they need a win like they never did before, luckily their form is good enough to achieve it. It`s about time their luck would change.
