In the previous seasons, Valencia and Barca duel in Copa Del Rey semifinals would be considered finals before the finals. This season both sides are weak and the question is which one of them will manage to handle the crisis first. Barca are the favourites in theory, and they already celebrated once at Mestalla this season.
Ronaldinho won’t play against Valencia
Manager Rijkaard’s side are quite weak in Primera. Since they won Levante, they have gone three successive games without a victory which even jeopardized their second place. That is why they will do their best to win the trophy in the Champions League and Copa Del Rey so they can improve the impression and compensate for weak play in Primera. This season Barca won Valencia away but Ronaldo Koeman’s players were in a big crisis back then. Deco and Toure won’t play since they are still injured and everything points to Ronaldinho joining them.
Valencia must win the Cup
After two successive wins in Primera (against Valladolid and Betis), Valencia again started the negative series. They drew four out of last six games and they were defeated by Sevilla and Espanyol. Still, what gives hope to the fans is that they gave the best performance in the cup since Koeman took over. Additional motivation to give their best against Barca will be the fact that Copa Del Rey is the only way to reach UEFA Cup next season. Vicente and Banega will play for Los Ches while Morientes is back which will be a great reinforcement for Valencia’s attack.
