Excellent season for Le Mans
Although we knew before this season that Le Mans are a very good team that deserves to be in the top, no one expected that they will be only four points away from the Champions League zone. Still they didn’t completely earn this with their play. They played great on all competitions but they were eliminated three weeks ago from the French Cup by Bordeaux. It is not embarrassing to get eliminated by such a team but we should mention that they managed to beat Lyon twice this year and they are undefeated for over a month now.
Their team is quite coherent and they play very tough. The attack doesn’t work great but defense is brilliant lately. They concede very hardly and a goal is usually enough for a point and sometimes to win.
Again three points away from the relegation zone
Lens played somewhat better lately and they managed to escape the relegation zone and even make an obvious distance. Still, after only one point in the last two league games they are back just above the margin. They are three points ahead of Toulouse that are playing better and better as the matches go by.
The key duel will be played next weekend when these two sides play in Lens and they certainly think about that more than on the semifinals of the cup.
On the start Europe was their aim, now they only want to survive. The question is what kind of a line-up they will field before the perhaps most important match in the season. Lens have more quality than their status shows. Only at moments were we able to see the potential that justifies their high ambitions from the start.

This is not an easy match to predict. Both teams think more about the weekend than about this match and the most important thing is which line-ups will be fielded. If the strongest teams play, we think that Le Mans stand good chance to move on. Still, we recommend betting on under 2.5 goals because both teams will play carefully. The important thing is to take the lead first. The odds for under 2.5 goals are hot high but neither is the risk.
