Chelsea and Tottenham will fight for the trophy of Carling Cup this season. They both want the trophy, both managers are playing their first finals ever since they have come to the clubs and, to make things even more exciting, this is the first final that is being played on the rebuilt Wembley Stadium.
Chelsea competing for both Carling and FA Cup…
After playing 0-0 woth Olympiacos away in the Champions League, Chelseas are now turning towards the fight for the first trophy this season. The team has mostly performed with the combined team during this contest but the result came anyway. On the road to final, they beat Hull, Leicester City, Liverpool and Everton in both semi-final games. Everyone in the club wants this trophy, because, besides this contest, they only have chance to record success in FA Cup. A miracle would need to happen in the Premiership for them to get in the title race. That is why the strongest squad possible is expected to run on the turf because this is Grant’s first chance for a trophy ever since he is at the helm.
Spurs want a visa to Europe next season from Carling Cup…
After the good result in Prague against Slavia, the Spurs have played the rematch with the combined squad. Manager Ramos rested players for this duel, so Keane and Berbatov have played only one half time. The team will give their best to win this trophy because this is their chance for the UEFA Cup qualifications for the next season. On the road to finals, the Spurs beat Middlesborough, Blackpool and Manchester City, drawn with Arsenal at Emirates and then ran over them 5-1 at home and qualified for the finals. Young defender, Dawson, will watch the game from the stands because he won’t be able to help his teammates due to his injury.
Betting verdict
The stakes are too high here…both teams want the trophy and it is clear they won’t rush too much to score early. The fans are excited because the teams will play with their strongest line-ups and it gave us the chance to suggest over 2.5 goals. Last season, their duels have brought even nine goals and, since both of them play offensive football, we believe the things will be repeated. As the final score is concerned, we believe in Chelsea who lost only one game of the last 16 duels with Tottenham.
Our tip: Bet 6 on Over 2.5 goals
