Jakob Kuhn
Jakob Kuhn or Kobi, as his countrymen call him has been national coach for many years, now. He ha san excellent resume as a player since he has worn the national jersey even 63 times and he also played in World Cup 1966. He is the club legend in Zurich where he appeared in more that 500 matches. For more than 15 years he wore their jersey and played in two Champions Cup semi-finals which is considered the highest achievement in their history.
Two big competitions in a row
Actually the Swiss have been hiring foreigners as national coaches for 12 years, so Football Association decision to give a chance to Kuhn after Argentinean Enzo Trosser left, has caused many controversies. However, since 2001. Kuhn has managed to lead his side to big competitions in 2004. and 2006. He is second in all-time matches on the Swiss team bench, behind legendary Karl Rappan.
